She is professor emerita in feminist political economy at London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). She was co-director of the LSE Commission on Gender, Inequality and Power, on the Policy Advisory Group of the UK Women's Budget Group and author of Is Austerity Gendered? (Polity Press, 2021).
