Ph.D. in Global Society Studies, Doshisha University, Japan, she is currently a Lise Meitner Fellow at JKU. Since 2013, she has been a senior lecturer at the Department of Business Economics, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka. She has published in the field of tourism, gender studies, empowerment and transnational labor migration.
